It’s been a while since I posted but we’re putting the finishing touches on our new/updated website which is more user-friendly and integrates the blog into the website. I wanted to have it complete before I started blog posts again. I also made a big improvement in the Photo tour section of the website. Please look around and offer some feedback While there please sign up for our Franzfoto newsletter
I was able to find and photograph some nice mule deer, elk, and bighorn sheep on the trip. Here some nice soft light worked great with this fine buck
I was also able to do quite a bit of bird photography during the trip. Many of the images were captured right from the car shooting off of my excellent Kirk Window Mount using my Canon Eos 1d4 and my EF800mm lens. A car makes a wonderful blind allowing you to approach wary birds closer than you could on foot.
I didn’t really do much landscape photography on this trip but I had a nice sunset at Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge. The image below was an HDR capture. By combining 3 images I was able to retain detail in both the shadow and highlighted areas of the scene.
